Since August 2000, there has been a close cooperation between the urology and the
radiation therapy departments in the KLINIK am RING. Both departments have for years been focusing specifically on the treatment of prostate cancer.
    
Adapting to increasing patient interest

In July 2002, both departments together with the departments of anesthesiology, radiology, nuclear medicine and pathology merged to the West German Prostate Center, abbreviated WPZ, in the KLINIK am RING. A characteristic of the West German Prostate Center is the stability of the treatment team. In contrast to most hospitals, in which there are frequent
changes of doctors, the medical team in the WPZ has worked together since the beginning. A high level of experience and competence, especially when performing special forms of treatment, is thereby guaranteed.
